Providing Essential Support to the Incarcerated

Support Outside-In is a growing network of people affected by the prison system. We aim to provide continued support to the incarcerated and their families.  Our goal is to raise support, awareness and most importantly positive change in the justice system.

A majority of incarcerated individuals have not been found guilty on any charges.

Over the years the saying “Guilty till proven Innocent” became very popular.  Unfortunately, this is a reality for many incarcerated individuals today.  In 2015, Orange County recorded 54% percent of incarcerated individuals are pretrial detainees. While 46% received sentencing. It’s widely known that the conditions in jails and prisons are poor. It is also widely known that incarcerated individuals have very little rights on the inside.  Imagine the thousands of individuals forced to live in these conditions while truly being innocent.  Support Outside In aims to find solutions to reform the regular practices of the prison system.

In the United States, there are 65,000 incarcerated minors. Children can be arrested as young as 9 and sent to prison. This country is the only one not to have ratified the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and to judge its children as adults.
